Exercises are the safest and best option for golfers elbow treatment.
Permanent cure of golfers elbow lies in rehabilitating and strengthening the affected tendons and muscles. Using medications or braces, you can keep the pain under control temporarily. But, for permanent golfers elbow treatment, you need to practice a set of golfers elbow exercises with a proper routine.
Most of these exercises are easy to do. To get started, I am giving you two simple exercises here.
The first exercises is known as the ‘pronation’. To perform this, you have to stand erect with your arms at two sides. Keep the forearm of your affected arm horizontal to the ground. Hold a broom stick or any other stick of more or less same weight and keep that facing up vertical to the ground. Now, slowly twist your wrist outward and try to bring the broom stick to the horizontal position. Return to where you began and repeat. Do it 10 to 15 times. This exercise works for golfers elbow only. For tennis elbow, a similar exercise needs to be performed in a slightly different way.
The next exercise is called ‘tennis ball squeeze’. Hold a tennis ball or any other flexible ball with your affected hand. Squeeze it gradually and relax. Do it a few times. This works for both golfers elbow and tennis elbow.
These are examples of two exercises with which you can begin. As you progress you have to start new exercises and make changes in the routine according to the progress. While it is true that proper practice of these exercises can relieve you from golf elbow pain permanently, you also need to be aware of the fact that practice of wrong exercises may even intensify your pain. So, it is very essential that you follow an expert guidance for golfers elbow exercises.
